WHY AM I OVERWEIGHT?

There are many studies that suggest obesity is influenced
by genetics (your family tree), the exact way is still unclear. Another
factor influencing weight gain was studied by watching obese people eat.
It was shown that the obese both eat more food and eat faster than the
non-obese. Metabolism (how fast you burn off what you eat) is also
determined by your family tree. Metabolic rate is similar in family
members. The bottom line is a lower metabolic rate will result in weight
gain.
Environmental
factors play a major role in your increase in weight. Decreased
physical activity, medical illnesses, pregnancy, some medications, and
certain diseases such as hypothyroidism can result in weight gain.
Depression, stress, boredom, and poor self-esteem can also play a role in
gaining weight.
ANYONE CAN LOSE WEIGHT. THE
KEY TO LOSING WEIGHT AND MAINTAINING THAT WEIGHT LOSS IS "REALLY
WANTING THIS FOR YOUR SELF". THE COMMITMENT HAS TO COME WITHIN. IF
YOU APPROACH WEIGHT MANAGEMENT WITHOUT REALLY WANTING THIS CHANGE IN
YOURSELF TO TAKE PLACE, THEN YOU HAVE ALREADY SET YOURSELF UP FOR FAILURE. |
